It is a vibrant, hands on learning center where local farmers can come together to share knowledge. We believe in building up people and their skills, rather than just handing out temporary relief that vanishes the moment external funding stops.
A Classroom in the Dirt
To truly overcome hunger here, we have to change the way the land is cultivated. The training at Bama Farm takes place out in the sun, with hands in the dirt. We are teaching practical, sustainable techniques perfectly suited for the local climate, like the incredible conservation methods of Farming God's Way.
For many local farmers, the high cost of imported chemical fertilizers feels like an impossible barrier. At Bama Farm, we remove that barrier completely by teaching farmers how to make their own rich, organic fertilizers using materials they can find right in their own villages. Students learn to create powerful compost and natural biopesticides. These highly effective methods allow farmers to dramatically boost their harvests without taking on crippling debt.
The vision extends far beyond the soil. In rural Burkina Faso, livestock acts as a living savings account for a family. Bama Farm will provide crucial, hands on training for successfully raising sheep, goats, poultry, and pigs. This knowledge gives families a safety net and multiple ways to earn a reliable income, no matter what the weather does.

These images reflect a foundation we are incredibly proud of and a proven track record we are ready to build upon.
You will also see photos of vibrant green vegetable rows and healthy pig enclosures throughout this piece. Please know that these represent our deepest hopes for this space. They are a vivid, beautiful blueprint of what we intend to build together, rather than the current reality. Today, Bama Farm is in a vital rebuilding phase. We have the land, we have the visionary local leadership, and we have a solid plan. Now, we just need the resources to breathe life into those aspirational pictures.
The Blueprint to Bring It Back
To get this beautiful engine of hope running at full speed, we are looking to raise $20,020. Every single dollar has a specific, powerful purpose in turning this property into a thriving hub of education and empowerment.
It all starts with water. Drilling a reliable well costs about $6,754, and repairing the existing infrastructure will take roughly $4,180. We also want to empower the local community right away, so we have budgeted $1,584 to cover a full year of wages for three dedicated farm workers. This is an investment in human dignity just as much as it is an investment in agriculture.
Finally, to make this a truly interactive classroom, we need $3,850 to bring in the demonstration animals, $1,155 to feed them for their first year, and $1,540 for a motorcycle to help our team travel and reach more isolated villages.
